Beautiful Bundi

De voorbij dagen ben ik Bundi geweest. Bundi is klein stadje in Rajasthan dat slechts door een handvol toeristen wordt bezocht. 't Is heel pittoresk, kleine gekleurde huisjes en boven de stad torent het paleis en het fort uit. Het paleis is prachtig. Ik ben er 's morgensvroeg op mijn eentje naar toe gegaan en ik was de enige die er rondliep. De bewaker heeft me rondgeleid en heeft me zelfs een deel van 't paleis laten zien dat normaalgezien gesloten is voor bezoekers omdat 't nogal bouwvallig is, maar 't was desondanks nog heel mooi.
Gewoon in Bundi rondlopen is al een hele belefenis. Iedereen is supervriendelijk. Je wordt door de mensen uitgenodigd om hun huis te bezichtigen, thee te drinken en zelfs mee te eten. Op straat vragen heel veel mensen om een foto van hen te nemen. Met als gevolg dat ik nu een hoop adressen heb om foto's naar te sturen...




The last few days I was in Bundi, a smal town in Rajasthan that is only visited by a few tourists. It's very colourful en beautiful. The palace and the fort are on a hill above the town. The palace is amazing. I visited it early in the morning and I was completely alone. The guard took me around and even showed me parts of the palace that normally are closed for public because they're in a bad state, but it was still very beautiful.
Simply walking around in Bundi is a spectacle. The people are so friendly and invite you in their homes to offer you tea and food. Everybody on the street wants their picture taken by you. So now I have a big list of addresses to sent pictures to...
